I had mine out I ate a lot of blackberries and they tasted better than
they ever had before since I was just eating jello and pudding before
that. |

It took me like 4 or 5 days before I could eat solid food. If I was careful I could chew softly on the third day though.
Luckily
I wasn't in pain really at all. It just sucked to eat soft foods all
the time. My jaw is a little sore right now when I open it wide
(yawning, etc). I had mine taken out 2 weeks ago today.
By the
way, someone told me (then the dentist told me after I was mostly
healed :/ ) that you should get some tea bags and bite down on them,
similar to the way you bit down on the gauze they gave you. Supposedly
the oils in it heales it really fast.

didn't swell up untill the 3rd and 4th day after. Then my face had some
sort of bruising and turned yellow for 4 or 5 days. By the 5th day
though the swelling was gone though.

only had to have the upper 2 taken out - so I was only in pain for
about 2 days. I remember eating a lot of mashed potatoes and gravy,
jello and ice cream. I didn't do the popsicle thing because I was told
the sucking motion (drinking from straws, popsicles on sticks) is
bad... You can develop a dry socket and it's a lot longer to heal. |

I
had all four wisdom teeth pulled about a year ago. I had only local
anesthesia done, as they'd charge me an additional 300.00 to be put
under. It wasn't too painful nonetheless,except the last one which I
nearly swallowed :o
Thank goodness the doctor prescribed
Vicodin. As that saved my bacon. The swelling wasn't too bad, but
putting a frozen bag of peas under a towel on my face helped. I had to
eat food mashed up in a blender the first three days after the surgery.

Remember
too, don't drink any carbonated beverages for at least a week. This
almost killed me when I had my two wisdom teeth pulled (I only had two
come in...weird). I couldn't stand not having any diet coke, so I'd
open it up and wait for about an hour before I'd drink it so the
bubbles would be all gone. Flat soda sucks. :huh: |

Get a nice heavy ale, maybe an IPA or such, and sit back and absorb liquid nourishment.
It might not make the humger go away, but it will fill you up, nourish you, and make you feel aw'right all at the same time.

when I had mine pulled, the dentist gave me a list of all the things I
had to avoid. I guess the carbonation is equivalent to drinking from a
straw...it can also cause that "socket rot" condition. |

Well
after the second day with no food your tune about about what you "will
not eat" will change real fast, yes you can eat just about anything
just be very careful and you will not to be able to chew very well, or
you could double or triple up on the pain meds and sleep for two days.
